Supporting the Economists of Tomorrow

Each year since 2002, Ellen and Sherman Shapiro have funded Shapiro Fellowships to support PhD students in Economics and to strengthen the Economics Department's ability to attract superior students to its graduate program..
Their first donation to IBER supported Bo Ananchotikul and Jay Kim. Subsequent Fellows were Rachel Polimeni (2003) and John Bellows (2004). Owen Ozier is the 2005 Shapiro Fellow in Economics.

We are proud of the high caliber and accomplishments of the Shapiro Fellows, and grateful to Ellen and Sherman for their continued support for the economists of tomorrow.
