Your Donations Support Graduate Student Research!

Direct support for graduate students and their research is made possible ONLY by financial support from IBER’s donors. You can easily be part of that effort by making an on-line donation of your own through Give To Cal.

Individual gifts and interest income from the John P. Carter Endowment have enabled IBER to continue its highly successful program of Dissertation Research Awards ($1,500 or less) to graduate students in Economics, Business, Demography and Agricultural and Resource Economics.

Over two hundred graduate students have received such awards to support their dissertation research. Award Recipients for the Academic Year 2012-2013. have been announced. Complete lists of past Dissertation Research Award recipients and their projects is also available.

We are grateful to Neil Berkman, Robert Burch, George Hildebrand, Raul Nicho, Richard Niello, Michael Peevey, Kenneth Reid and, most especially, Sherman and Ellen Shapiro for their particularly generous donations.
